Downtown Scottsdale has a lot to offer. The Scottsdale downtown area is a popular area for locals and tourists alike! Downtown Scottsdale is consider by most as the 'Central Business District', featuring a roughly 2 square-mile area bordered by Chaparral Road on the north; Pima Freeway on the east, 64th Street on the west; and McKellips on the south.
From the Civic Center and Old Town to the new Waterfront and upscale Fashion Square, the ambiance and amentias of Downtown Scottsdale are amazing. Entertainment, arts and shopping are abundant here where the 'old west' and 'new west' merge to make this area unique. The Scottsdale Civic Center Mall is home to the Scottsdale Historical Museum, City Hall, the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, the Museum of Modern Art, the Civic Center and a variety of restaurants. There are several beautiful fountains, lots of open grassy areas, beautiful flowers, a variety of art work and several picnic tables. You can take leisurely walks visit the museums or listen to music. There is entettainment, art and shopping available in the mall. This slide show was made in February 2009 - the beautiful 80 degree day and bright sunshine is why so many want to live in Scottsdale!

Adjacent to the Civic Center, Old Town of Downtown Scottsdale is known for it’s shops, art, restaurants and entertainment. There is a farmers market on Saturdays from November 1st through May. The hours are 8:30 am until 1:00 pm. Old town offers outdoor shopping area, with an balance of southwestern boutiques, Native American crafts outlets and Western-wear stores, several jewelry shops of every price range, to expensive art galleries of paintings, pottery and more. The Scottsdale Livery and Antique Carriage House are open from October through May. Carriages are available at the entrance to the Scottsdale Mall located at Brown and Main Street. There are free Old West stagecoach rides at Main Street and Brown Avenue run from 1 to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
The historic Old Adobe Mission Church built in 1933 and constructed of a unique blend of 6,000 handmade adobe bricks is currently under renovation but it open for tours. Old town is a great place for unique entertainment, magnificent art work and southwest shopping!
